Two Germans being held hostage by the leftist ELN guerrilla group in Colombia are tourists, the German embassy said Tuesday after the rebels accused the two of being spies.

"They are retirees who were in the region as tourists," the embassy said in a statement, acknowledging that they were being held against their will.

Russian agents detained a Colombian priest on arrival at a Moscow airport and found he had swallowed over a dozen condoms stuffed with cocaine, the federal anti-narcotics service said Wednesday.

Anti-narcotics officers detained the man at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport because his "sickly appearance and nervous behavior" raised suspicions, the service said.

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has warned the country's leftist rebels against resuming violent guerrilla operations, saying the army and police were ready to respond to their attacks.

The warning came as a unilateral ceasefire announced by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in November to facilitate peace talks with the government was set to expire on Sunday.

Colombia's government and leftist FARC rebels resume peace talks in Cuba on Monday after a three-week break, under pressure to finally end their decades-long conflict.

The longtime rivals launched the negotiations in October, their fourth attempt in three decades to end a conflict that has left 600,000 people dead, 15,000 missing and four million displaced since 1964.

Honduran President Porfirio Lobo said Monday that a pre-Christmas party at the country's embassy in Colombia that included prostitutes was a "sad incident."

At the foreign minister's request, ambassador Carlos Rodriguez resigned Saturday after his bodyguard hosted a bash at the Bogota mission on December 20 with prostitutes and alcohol. The diplomat said he was not at the party.

The former Honduran ambassador to Colombia accepted blame Sunday for a party held at his embassy that reportedly involved prostitutes, but said he was away on vacation when it took place.

"Yes, a party was organized at the mission on December 20 and I take full responsibility," Carlos Rodriguez Andino said in an interview published on the website of the La Tribuna newspaper.

Hundreds of visitors have tucked handwritten notes into the enormous stone slab at the new center adjacent to Bogota's main cemetery, which many think of as Colombia's "Wailing Wall."

The structure is the centerpiece of Colombia's new Center for Remembrance, Peace and Reconciliation where visitors can pay their respects to victims of the armed conflict that has torn the country apart for nearly a half-century.

The European Union on Tuesday donated its 2012 Nobel peace prize cash, plus a one million-euro top-up, to thousands of children impacted by war in Syria, Colombia, Congo and Pakistan.

"In situations of conflict, children are often the most vulnerable," said EU president Herman Van Rompuy. "So it is only right that this award should benefit young victims of armed conflicts."

A bus swerved off a road in central Colombia and flipped over, killing 27 passengers and injuring 15, an official said.

A total of 24 people died on the scene and three more later in hospital, said Alvaro Escobar, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office in Cundinmarca department.
