Spain Police Hunt for Two British Fugitives

Spanish police said Sunday they were on the hunt for five foreign fugitives who are thought to be hiding in Spain, including two British men and a Colombian woman wanted for murder.

Police asked the public to be on the lookout for Kevin Thomas Parle, 33, who is wanted in Britain for the murder of a young mother who was shot dead when three men burst into her home in the northwestern city Liverpool in 2005.

Poll: Support for Scottish Independence Increasing

Support for the "Yes" campaign backing an independent Scotland is growing sharply, eight months of a referendum on the issue, according to a poll published in the Scotland on Sunday newspaper.

Some 37 percent of those surveyed said they supported independence, with 44 percent opposed and 19 percent undecided. This is a five point gain for the "Yes" campaign since the last ICM survey was conducted last September.

UK Says Iran Must Embrace Syria Transition to Attend Talks

Iran could attend peace talks on Syria next week if it gives a "strong signal" that it will embrace a political transition to replace the current regime, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Monday.

Hague said Iran was still providing support to Syrian President Bashar Assad's government, and that if it wanted to attend the talks in Switzerland it should instead agree to the principles set out at a first set of talks in Geneva in 2012, including a transitional government in Syria.
