Hariri Tells Lebanese to Fight for their Country 'Peacefully’

Former PM Saad Hariri advised the Lebanese on Saturday not to give up on their country, a day before his scheduled appearance on a giant TV screen during a rally in support of the Syrian people.

“Don't give up on Lebanon. It's your country fight for it peacefully,” the al-Mustaqbal movement leader said on his twitter feed.

“Maybe there are some dark days, but eventually brighter days will come,” he said in response to a tweet from a follower.

Al-Mustaqbal will hold the rally at Martyrs Square in downtown Beirut near the graveyard of slain ex-Premier Rafik Hariri in support of the Syrian uprising against the regime of President Bashar Assad.

Hariri is expected to make an important speech via video link.

The movement’s secretary-general, Ahmed Hariri, said Thursday that the event, which is held “in memory of the martyrs of May 7, 2008,” is aimed at rallying the support of the Lebanese people behind al-Mustaqbal’s stances.

“We will go there to convince those who caused the incidents that that day wasn’t glorious,” Hariri said in reference to Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s claims.

“A lot (of people) remind us of May 7 and this crazy mind still thinks the same way,” he added.

Hizbullah gunmen swept through Sunni neighborhoods of Beirut on May 7, 2008 after the government of then PM Fouad Saniora tried to dismantle the group's telecommunications network.

The fighting that left scores dead brought the country to the brink of a new civil war.

It would be better if Nasrallah and Harriri put their screens next to each other, to see who's screen is bigger and better. Stop wasting people's time on empty speeches, which will bring nothing but more trouble and misery.

The Key question is: Why did the Lebanese people die on that day? What was the cause of death?
Dismantle a militia telecom network eating and using the government infrastructure?
Raising arms and killing Lebanese people even if the dismantling occurred without coordination with the militia?
This explains clearly to the simple minded one more time after the 2006 war that was ragged against the entire country infrastructure, who is creating instability in the country to keep the war status quo so that the Iranian masters continue their financial and arms support to the militia.
