The army intelligence foiled an attempt by three men to smuggle weapons to Syria, the National News Agency reported on Monday.

Two Lebanese men and a Syrian national were detained after the army confiscated their pick-up truck in Beirut.

The truck was loaded with weapons and anti-missile shields.

State commissioner to the military court Judge Saqr Saqr charged the three men with trading arms and smuggling it to Syria.

Saqr referred the three men to the first Military Examining Magistrate.

The poorly-demarcated Syrian-Lebanese border has witnessed a number of violations since the revolt against Syrian President Bashar Assad began in mid-March 2011.

Amazing army....it's just a "Unidirectional" army..so efficient one way, but not the other way :-)...for 35 years, we had hoped the army confiscates one single shipment "from" Syria...what a disapointment!!

i guess if those hezb supporters were logic with themselves they should tolerate arm smuggling to other lebanese parties who would claim theselves resistant too...
they should tolerate that any political parties could get as armed as hezbollah as it is allowed for them it appears!!

thus it is clear that those hezbi supporters are not for a strong and sovereign state as their logic accept sparties to get armed more than the army itself... (if tolerated for ONE party it is then tolerated for all!)

therefore they deny the army and police the right to be the only ones with arms...

of course they will come with the lame excuse that every parties are already armed to the teeth but i don t think as heavily armed as hezbollah! we have seen what arms they displayed in may 2008! only light ones...

One thing, Hez weapons are for potential use in case Israel invades Lebanon for a 4th time. Smuggling weapons to people who use them on soft targets, where black hoods and ambush people, snipe people and,for instance, kill Lebanese reporters in Lebanon and blame it on the Syrian Army, that is to say, Terrorists, is not a valid comparison in terms of logic or causation to Hezbollah attaining weapons to face an imminent threat. Its comparing peaches to oranges. These smugglers are making Saudi money and they do not care who gets killed. No better than drug dealers. It is a cash business ,these men are not heroes.

Let them go, they were simply returning some of the weapons smuggled into Lebanon by the fake resistance
