Prime Minister Saad Hariri has acknowledged that the past year was “difficult,” while noting that it involved “achievements” for the country.

Efforts in 2018 “will be focused on restoring confidence in the state,” Hariri said in a TV interview.

“I promise the Lebanese that the elections will be timely and fair,” the premier added, referring to the May 2018 parliamentary polls, which for the first time in Lebanon’s history will be held under a proportional representation system.

“The Lebanese people must take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections and they should vote heavily for those whom they believe are eligible of being in power,” Hariri went on to say, pointing out that the results of the polls cannot be predicted in advance.

Hariri Hails 2017 'Achievements'

The loser has no sense of reality whatsoever. His achievements were:

1) Agreeing to a tailor made election law that will enable hezbollah and its cronies to gain parliamentary majority and thus total control of the country.

2) Imposing new taxes in the absence of economic growth and rising unemployment.

3) Dissociating himself and that of his government from hezbollah's activities and interference in government work and arab countries affairs.

4) Staging a laughable resignation in order to reverse a growing erosion in his popular base.

Hariri is a constitutional scholar as is Obama, and Hariri emphasizes here, speaking as he does as a Sunni, that the guaranteed Christian victory at the polls, half of Parliament, is the very definition of fairness, not just for Muslims, but for all Lebanese. If you know the outcome of the election, why have an election at all? Paralysis: that's what "stability" means in Lebanon. Aoun is a little smarter than that.
