President Michel Suleiman stated on Monday that the closure of a pharmaceutical factory in Jdita in the eastern Bekaa Valley came as part of the state's keenness on the health of citizens.

On Friday, the factory was sealed with wax by the state authorities because it failed to meet the manufacturing standards.

The President urged the judicial authorities to take action against the facility, and said: “The step comes as part of the state's efforts to counter all law violations and any failure to follow the standards.”

The President called on all the ministries and administrations to unveil any violations they know of, and urged each district to handle its duties which would appease the citizens and public opinion.
