Middle East Airlines (MEA) will purchase an Airbus A320-232 airplane for $32 million through a 10-year financing deal with Fransabank.
MEA President Mohammed Hout signed the agreement with the bank’s chairman Adel al-Kassar at Fransabank’s headquarters in Beirut’s Hamra street.
“Our decision to fund MEA for the fourth consecutive time reflects our trust in the credibility and the financial ability of the company,” said al-Kassar during the ceremony.
As for Hout, he thanked the bank for its confidence in the national carrier, saying Fransabank’s initiative would contribute to the company’s “productive capacity.”
The MEA chairman also expressed his pride in the ability of the Lebanese banking sector to make such funding.
