Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri held talks on Tuesday with a delegation from the Syrian National Coalition, headed by Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib.
Hariri stressed to the Syrian opposition head: “We will not back down from supporting the Syrian revolution no matter how great the challenges.”
“Lebanon looks forward to the day in which the wishes of the Syrian people are achieved and a democratic regime is established,” he stressed during the meeting that was held at his Riyadh residence.
“Our Arab, fraternal, and humanitarian duties obligate us to support the Syrian opposition,” declared Hariri.
In addition, the former premier praised efforts to unite the ranks of the Syrian opposition in a bid to prepare for the phase that follows the toppling of the regime of President Bashar Assad.
The talks also focused on the goals that the Syrian National Coalition is seeking to achieve.
