Sax in the Living Room: Vienna Musicians Offer Home Concerts
Have you ever wanted to enjoy a live concert without leaving the comfort of your own living room? Now is your chance.
Vienna's venerable Konzerthaus is bringing musicians right into its audience's homes under the title "Rent a musician," to publicise its new contemporary concert series this season.
For one night on October 12, music lovers will be able to book a 20-minute "house concert" -- at home or at the location of their choice -- performed by members of the Viennese contemporary ensemble PHACE.
The choices on offer include an accordion and clarinet duo, guitar and percussion, a trio of cello, contrabass and saxophone, and a solo piano performance -- although the piano will have to be provided.
A small donation is enough to secure one of the 20 mini-concerts performed that night.
Whoever misses this opportunity can still attend PHACE's regular series of concerts at the Konzerthaus starting on October 17.
