President Michel Suleiman described his talks with Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as “very useful”, adding that they had agreed on the “majority of issues”, reported the daily An Nahar on Saturday.
He added: “Lebanon gratefully accepts all Iranian aid that does not violate international laws.”
He made his remarks at the end of his trip to Iran where he attended the Non-Aligned Movement summit.
Suleiman had met with Khamenei on Thursday on the margins of the summit, which concluded its proceedings on Friday.
Sources from the Lebanese delegation told the daily that the president’s talks with Iranian officials focused on bolstering bilateral ties and the situations in Lebanon and Syria.
The president stressed the importance of resolving the Syrian crisis away from violence, but through dialogue.
He rejected any foreign military intervention in Syria.
