Jordan's King Abdullah II expressed his condolences on Saturday to the family of “Dean of Journalists” Ghassan Tueni.
"We express our sincerest sympathies for this profound affliction,” the king said in a letter sent to the Tueni family.
Tueni, the honorary president and former chairman of the board of directors of An Nahar newspaper, had passed away at dawn Friday at the age of86.
“We recall with all admiration and appreciation the career of the dean of the Lebanese press and his never-ending giving and marks on thought, politics and public work for the good of Lebanon and the service of the Arab nation and its just causes," King Abdullah II said.
The funeral of Tueni was attended by various politicians, journalists, and media personalities on Saturday.
