The Lebanese Forces is still studying whether or not to take part in Thursday’s cabinet session, LF sources said.
The sources told Al-Jadeed television that Minister of Energy and Water Joe Saddi prefers to complete negotiations with the Qatari side and finalize the electricity plan before making a decision to attend government sessions.
The Nidaa al-Watan newspaper had reported Tuesday that the LF ministers would keep boycotting cabinet sessions until the case of the Hezbollah explosives shipment gets referred to the Judicial Council, the country’s top state security court.
The four ministers of the LF had boycotted last Thursday’s session.
The LF is protesting what it has described as procrastination in referring the explosives case to the Judicial Council.
Nidaa al-Watan reported on Tuesday that the government had decided not to currently refer the file to the Judicial Council due to an alleged Hezbollah threat to stage a May 7-like military takeover of the country.
