Israeli Army Arabic-language spokesperson Lt. Col. Ella Waweya released footage on Tuesday on the X platform allegedly showing Hezbollah operatives loading weapons onto a truck in an attempt to move them from a site in southern Lebanon.
Waweya accused the Lebanese Army of failing to clear southern Lebanon of Hezbollah's arms and of coordinating on occasion with Hezbollah to help them move their weapons.
She said the Lebanese Army was requested in December, through the U.S.-led monitoring mechanism, to address a Hezbollah military facility in the southern town of Kafra. "The Lebanese Army announced that it had taken the necessary measures regarding this facility," Waweya said, adding that "Hezbollah operatives were still moving weapons out of the facility months after the Lebanese Army's announcement."
She said the Israeli Army struck and destroyed the truck after detecting its activity and accused the Lebanese Army of failing to fulfill its mission — removing Hezbollah's weapons and military infrastructure in southern Lebanon, as agreed upon under a U.S.- and French-brokered Israel–Lebanon ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024.
"The IDF expects the Lebanese Army to take firmer and more effective action to... prevent the presence of weapons and military infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in southern Lebanon.
"The IDF continues to monitor Hezbollah's attempts to rebuild its military capabilities and reinforce its armament and will not allow any violation that poses a threat to the security of the State of Israel and its citizens," Waweya said, adding that Hezbollah dragged Lebanon and its residents into war to serve Iranian interests.
