Aoun says framework deal is not ideal but saved Lebanon from further aggression
President Joseph Aoun said Tuesday that the framework agreement is not "ideal" but it has saved what remains of Lebanon and limited the Israeli aggression.
"The people of the South are exhausted and only want to live in peace," he said. "We made the decision to save what remains of Lebanon and we chose negotiations because war will lead us nowhere."
Aoun said Lebanon's goal is to achieve an Israeli withdrawal, the return of the displaced to their villages, the release of prisoners, and reconstruction.
