Report: US suspects Lebanese security helping Iranian Guards enter Lebanon

Loopholes in registering deaths from Hezbollah’s environment to facilitate the entry of Iranians into Lebanon have been detected, a U.S. source said on Wednesday.

“We are investigating the passage of Iranians using Lebanese documents at Beirut airport and land crossings,” the source told Al-Arabiya’s Al-Hadath channel.

There are suspicions that Lebanese security personnel are involved in issuing passports to Iranian operatives, the source added, claiming that “real Lebanese IDs are being used to obtain documents for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.”

“The Trump administration has monitored the movement of Revolutionary Guard members to and from Lebanon” and there are “suspicions that Lebanese security personnel are providing facilitations to Hezbollah at the airport and the port,” the U.S. source said, adding that Washington has “reservations regarding members of the Lebanese General Security.”
