It's official: Aoun to visit White House on July 21
The Embassy of Lebanon in Washington announced Wednesday that the White House has officially invited President Joseph Aoun to visit Washington and meet with President Donald Trump on July 21.
"The invitation reflects the enduring partnership between Lebanon and the United States and provides an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, regional security, and continued U.S. support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity, and state institutions," the Lebanese Embassy said.
"This visit follows an intensive period of diplomatic engagement undertaken by the Embassy of Lebanon in Washington, D.C., in close coordination with the Lebanese Presidency and top officials in the U.S. Administration. Throughout this process, the Embassy has worked to strengthen high-level bilateral dialogue and facilitate the arrangements that culminated in this official visit."
The Embassy said it is coordinating all aspects of the President’s visit in close collaboration with the Lebanese Presidency, the White House, and the Department of State to ensure a successful bilateral meeting.
