Hezbollah political bureau member Mahmoud Qmati has said that the “equation” that Israel is “trying to impose on Lebanon” will not continue and “will change.”
“As Lebanon, the state, diplomatic relations and Lebanese army and resistance, we will not allow that this equation remain above our heads and that this aggression continue against our land. The state must fulfill its promises and responsibilities, after it said that it will liberate the land and the captives, put an end to violations and begin reconstruction,” Qmati added.
“Why do they want Lebanon to negotiate with the Israeli enemy while there is an existent agreement and Israel is refraining from implementing any of its terms for around a year now,” the Hezbollah official wondered.
He accordingly called on the countries sponsoring the agreement to “press the enemy to implement it, after which we would discuss all matters domestically and on the Lebanese level, in cooperation with all officials and the three presidents, now and in the future.”
“As we cling to our weapons, we extend our hand for domestic cooperation and understanding with all of the country’s parties and our partners in the country,” Qmati added.
“We only have resilience, clinging to the resistance and arms, and cooperating with the Lebanese parties to the utmost extent in order to protect our country and we have no other choices at all,” the Hezbollah official went on to say.
He added that what has happened in Gaza and the region was “a lesson that without resistance, peoples get annihilated and nations get humiliated.”
“We have no choice but to cling to the resistance, even if that leads to the martyrdom of all of us,” Qmati added.
