U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein said Wednesday that he made "additional progress" in the Lebanon-Israel ceasefire talks after he held a second meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri.
"The meeting today built on the meeting yesterday and made additional progress, so I will travel from here in a couple hours to Israel to try to bring this to a close if we can," Hochstein told reporters in Ain el-Tineh.
Israeli officials meanwhile told U.S. news portal Axios that Hochstein will travel to Israel from Lebanon on Wednesday night and will meet Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on Thursday to "discuss the Lebanon ceasefire deal."
