Hezbollah targets again defense industry complexes near Israel's Haifa

The Israeli military said on Thursday it hit around 75 "Hezbollah targets" in Lebanon during the night, including ammunition depots of the Lebanese armed group.

"Overnight, the IDF (Israeli military)... struck approximately 75 terror targets" belonging to Hezbollah "in the area of Bekaa and in southern Lebanon, including weapons storage facilities, ready-to-fire launchers" as well as militants and other infrastructure, the military said in a statement.

Meanwhile, 45 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon on Thursday and Israel said it intercepted some of the projectiles "and the rest fell in open areas," as Israeli warplanes continued to strike southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah said it again targeted defense industry complexes in northern Israel near the city of Haifa.

"Defending Lebanon and its people", Hezbollah fighters "bombed the Rafael military industry complexes... with salvos of rockets", the Iran-backed group said in a statement, after announcing several previous targetings of the site since Sunday.

Another wave of 40 projectiles crossed later from Lebanon within several minutes, as sirens sounded in the Galilee area, the military said, adding that several were intercepted.

Hezbollah said it forced two warplanes to leave Lebanese airspace Thursday and targeted Kiryat Shmona and Kiryat Mutzkin in north Israel.

It later targeted the northern Israeli town of Safed with dozens of rockets in response to Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

"Defending Lebanon and its people, and in response to the barbaric Israeli" attacks on "cities, villages and civilians" in Lebanon, Hezbollah fighters targeted Safed "with 80 rockets", a statement said.

Israeli strikes on Lebanon killed 72 people on Wednesday. The ministry said in a series of statements that "Israeli airstrikes" killed 38 people in southern Lebanon, 12 in the eastern Bekaa region and 22 in three towns north and south of Beirut. Nearly 400 people were injured.

The Israeli military said it has hit more than 2,000 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the past three days, including hundreds on Wednesday.
