Prime Minister Najib Miqati held a meeting with Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah during the holidays, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Friday.
The meeting, according to the daily, tackled the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the assassination of ex-PM Rafik Hariri and the latest developments.
Nasrallah has criticized Miqati’s decision to fund the STL, slamming the court as a U.S.-Israeli conspiracy against his party.
Last year, the PM transferred 32 million dollars Lebanon owed the STL.
Miqati informed Nasrallah that the protocol of the STL will be renewed automatically in March as the STL doesn’t need the cabinet’s approval describing its role as “consultative” only.
The daily reported that the two officials discussed the latest developments locally including the deliberations on the adoption of the 2012 draft state budget.
