President Michel Suleiman lauded on Thursday the government’s performance so far, despite the criticism it has come under.
He hoped that it would “make the appointments of top civil servants in gradual steps and not in one single haul.”
He explained that the appointments should be made according to merit, praising the government for its successes in approving the citizenship law for expatriates and the execution decrees for the oil excavation law.
The president said that cabinet will continue on studying the parliamentary electoral law and the state budget.
Suleiman noted that the conditions to resume the national dialogue have been improving.
He later held talks with Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour.
