Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun is expected to attend the next meeting between representatives of the movement and the Lebanese Forces, reported the pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat on Sunday.
An LF source told the daily that the meeting is scheduled to take place next week.
It will be held between LF official Melhem Riachi and FPM MP Ibrahim Kanaan.
The talks will continue efforts aimed at dropping lawsuits filed between the two sides against each other.
This matter will be discussed further during a legal meeting, also set for next week.
The anticipated meeting between LF chief Samir Geagea and Aoun has yet to be scheduled, added the daily.
“The timing of the meeting is linked to reaching a breakthrough regarding points of contention thus making dialogue more productive,” Riachi had remarked on January 7.
The rivalry between Aoun and Geagea has led to a vacuum in the presidency. Lebanon has been without a head of state since President Michel Suleiman's six-year term ended in May.
Media reports had said that dialogue between the two leaders is aimed at breaking the ice and reaching a joint position regarding several controversial issues.
