Moussawi Rejects Comparison between Resistance Fighters, Takfiris

Hizbullah MP Nawwaf al-Moussawi rejected any comparison between the resistance fighters and militants linked to takfiri groups, calling on those who are seeking justice to act similarly.

“The attempt to level the arms of the resistance with those of the takfiris is unjust,” Moussawi said during a speech at an Ashura gathering on Saturday eve.

He slammed the weapons of the takfiris, pointing out that Lebanese soldiers and innocent civilians are assaulted by them.

“We assure those who are talking about justice and the importance of equality between the Lebanese, that the presence of arms depots in Beirut's southern suburbs, the Bekaa valley and the South is to defend Lebanon against the Israelis,” Moussawi said in an apparent response to Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi.

Rifi called on Saturday for the implementation of the security plan evenly in all Lebanese regions and confiscating weapons from these areas, as it is happening in the northern coastal city of Tripoli.

“Tripoli's residents do not need a blood test to prove their patriotism, but rather those who have warehouses of weapons and receives tons of money and weapons from Iran, they should prove their patriotism,” the justice minister pointed out.

Moussawi, a Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP, described the weapons that were used in attacking the army as “corrupt.”

“Those who carried the weapons of corruption should be detained and prosecuted.”

The lawmaker said that “if it wasn't for the Wilayet al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurist), takfiris would have been present in all Lebanese cities and not only in Tripoli and the north.”
