Syrian warplanes carried out overnight raids on positions controlled by the opposition along the Lebanese-Syrian border, media reports said.
Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) reported on Tuesday that the raids targeted Syrian opposition posts in the Eastern Mountain range.
The sound of bombings was reportedly heard across the city of Baalbek.
The mountainous area has long been a smuggling haven, with multiple routes into Syria that have been used since the conflict began in March 2011 to transport weapons and fighters.
