An unknown attacker on Monday hurled a hand grenade at an army vehicle near the Barrad al-Bisar area in Tripoli's al-Zahriyeh, which left two soldiers wounded.
“At once, an army unit raided the only building that faces Barrad al-Bisar to pursue and arrest the perpetrator,” state-run National News Agency reported.
Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) identified the wounded soldiers as Bilal Tleis and Imad Aqil, saying they were rushed to hospital.
The radio station also said “a hand grenade was hurled on the Abu Ali roundabout, causing no casualties."
Earlier, a percussion bomb was hurled in the vicinity of al-Nasseri Mosque in Tripoli's Syria Street and was followed by gunshots that were fired in the air, according to media reports.
